Joshua Hoffine is one of my favourite photographers without a doubt. He is one of the only quite popular horror photographers that is out there at the moment and he seems to do quite well for himself. This image is my favourite image I have found in photography yet simply because it tells a story. The image depicts a women called Lady Bathory who existed in the 16th century as a Dutch countess. It is deemed that she was a very powerful women who would bathe in the bloods of virgins to retain her youth. She has been named one of the most prolific women killers in history. Even though the image is very gory and probably would upset some people, you have to take into consideration how much effort has gone into the process of making this image a reality. Obviously Hoffine didn't cut a girls throat for the picture so you can imagine how hard it was to edit this. In his blog he describes how he created this image which I found really interesting so check it out:

Food Photography
On to a new style of photography I'm not very familiar with which is Food Photography. Our new project is Great British Food Photography. We have been asked to photograph typically British food such as Bangers and mash, or a fry up but I want to photograph out of the box so I have chose to do Dippy Egg and Soldiers. This image I found from Google and I am using it as inspiration for my shoot.

The walking dead!
This image was inspired by one of my favourite tv shows: the walking dead. I like how the image looks almost unreal and sort of like a painting. I love including things that I like into my pictures like films and tv shows because it makes the project a bit more interesting for me.
Nightmares...
This image is my take on nightmares and fears of turning the light off after reading a scary novel or watching a scary movie. Not everyones nightmares are the same because they often include your deepest fears or something you have been worrying about. Nightmares tend to be about something that has been on your mind, sometimes subconsiously. I got my idea to focus on nightmares by looking at one of my favourite photographers Joshua Hoffine who focus' a lot on fears and nightmares that he had as a child. I also chose to explore the meaning of nightmares because there is something so interesting about them because you have no control over them.

"What kind of disease would make you cut your own face off?"
This is one of the images I did as part of my evil dead series. When I seen the new Evil dead in April, I knew I wanted to recreate some of the scenes from the movie. Some may say I am copying but in my opinion I loved it that much that I thought it would be fun to recreate it. I then later found out all of the make up in the 2013 Evil Dead was all SFX make up and not special effects using computers. If you have seen the movie you will understand just how amazing and shocking that is considering how realistic and gory the make-up. Knowing this, is lead me to experiment with SFX make-up myself and realised that I love it and am actually quite good at it. This image shows my some SFX make-up that I did myself. If you have seen the new Evil Dead then you will reccognize this scene where the demon force leads one of the characters to cut her own face off. This was definitely my favourite scene in the whole movie.

The woman in the black veil
The woman in the black veil...
I have wanted to do a woman in black style victorian shoot for a while now and when we were given the project to photograph a portrait of someone wearing a hat or headpiece that I had constructed myself, I couldn't refuse. I had also been to see insidious 2 the night before which really gave me the creeps. If you have seen insidious 2 you will understand just how much that film inspired this shoot. If you havn't seen it get, you really should. But I advise that you watch the first insidious first or things could get confusing.
